Setting the Bar will be screening at the AFI Silver Theater and Cultural Center for the AFI Latin American Film Festival on Saturday, September 14th at 4:30pm. Find out more info here. We’re honored that we were chosen to be a part of the important work of SF Green Film Festival. Setting the Bar will have a screening at the Roxie Theater on Friday, September 27th at 8:00pm with a chocolate tasting afterwards featuring Dandelion Chocolate. Setting the Bar screened at DOCUTAH on September 4th at 6:20pm at Red Cliffs theater! There was also a second screening on September 6th at 11:40am at the same location for those who couldn’t make it on Wednesday. See you there!


Setting the Bar was selected for the Cleveland International Film Festival 2020, it was presented virtually this year due to COVID restrictions.


We will be featured at the Festival de Cine Español in Tubingen, Germany, Culinary section: Friday, December 6th at 18:00 and Sunday, December 8th at 18:00.

Join the virtual festival! Setting the Bar will be available from February 6th at 6:30pm to February 6th at 11:59pm 2021. There will be a chocolate tasting talk and live Q&A with the director after the live events.


Setting the Bar will be screening at the Sustainable Living Film Festival in Turkey on November 22nd, 18:45.


Setting the Bar will have two screenings at the Yilan Green International Film Festival in Taiwan: October 30th at 15:30 at Luodong United Cinema and November 1st at Yilan Crescent Luxury Cinema at 15:30.

Setting the Bar will be touring around Turkey to be shared with disadvantaged parts of the country in a series of screenings organized by local NGOs who are trying to create change in their cities. Although Turkey is not a cacao producing country, they have many other agricultural products and  small-scale farmers. They believe that screening Setting the Bar in these cities is relevant and will have an impact with young social entrepreneurs in these communities.

Setting the Bar will be screening in Konstanz, Germany at Dokuwinter on Sunday, December 17th at 19:00. The screening will be at the communal arts center and will have conversations from experts talking about local initiatives. The goal is to have the audience face difficult topics in a safe place in their own community while giving solutions and strategies for their own life. For the holidays, Dokuwinter wants to send their guests home with a positive and optimistic feeling in their heads and hearts while considering purchasing sustainably made chocolate. Setting the Bar will be screening in the VIP lounge at the Chocolate Festival in San Francisco: March 7th and 8th, 2020 at the Palace of Fine Arts.

Setting the Bar is having a screening at the Fox Event Center hosted by local Redlands’ businesses on Monday, September 9, 2019. Screening is at 6:30pm with an after party at Aroi Mak Mak which will include specialty beers, mezcal, cocktails, and of course…delicious chocolate!

Aroi Mak Mak is throwing an after party after the screening of Setting the Bar on September 9, 2019 starting at 8:40pm. Here is a sneak peak of one of the several delicious surprises offered. Everyone is invited!



Atlanta’s premiere will be on Sunday, December 8th at 6:00pm. Enjoy a chocolate tasting and sample cacao infused beer from Wild Heaven. This is part of a two day celebration of Xocolatl's 5th Anniversary put on by Georgia Organics Cast Iron and Collards Society. The celebration concludes Monday night, December 9th, at 8ARM with a chocolate themed dinner by Executive Chef Maricela Vega. All proceeds from both events benefit Georgia Organics. ** Event Postponed ** Setting the Bar will screen at Jardín Cebú in Oaxaca, Mexico on Friday, March 13th. Doors will open at 5:30pm to taste chocolate, mezcal and other traditional foods from the area. Screening will start at 7:30pm followed by a Q&A with the Director and local artisanal chocolate makers. Tickets are $30MXN per person, all proceeds go to Voces de Guiraa', a scholarship program for kids with disabilities in Oaxaca.


Guadalajara International Film Festival is hosting a five course chocolate themed dinner after the World Premiere screening on March 12, 2019 at Chulada Restaurant. Movie Night at The Collider, presented by Oskar Blues on October 24, 2017 06:30pm - 09:00pm ET in Asheville, North Carolina. 

"A Future Without Chocolate? Terrifying!"

We have partnered up with The Collider and French Broad Chocolates in a special pre-Halloween edition Movie Night at The Collider. The event will include clips from Setting The Bar Film and insights from Dan Rattigan from French Broad Chocolates who is featured in the documentary.

Attendees will have the opportunity to sample single-origin chocolates while representatives of French Broad Chocolates and a climate scientist will discuss the natural environment it is produced in: climate, soil, topography. More info found here: https://thecollider.org/event/

On March 5th, come to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens to join film Director Tim Shephard and one of the main characters of the documentary Nate Hodge from Raaka to learn about sourcing and sustainable agriculture through chocolate. Find out the details here.


On March 7th, join Director Tim Shephard at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in a special preview of selected footage from their latest documentary program, Setting the Bar: A Craft Chocolate Origin Story, as they share the story of chocolate from bean in the Amazon to bar in high-end cafes and stores. Elaine Read and Matt Weyandt, the co-owners of Krog Street Market's Xocolatl Small Batch Chocolate, appear in the film and will be here to talk about their journey to creating sustainable and artisanal chocolate products. Director Tim Shephard presented at the Northwest Chocoalte Festival in Seattle in November 2016. He was accompanied by Nate Hodge from Raaka Chocolate, Dan Rattigan from French Broad Chocolates, Matt Weyandt from Xocolatl Small Batch Chocolate and Steve Bergin from Conservation Cacao.


We had a successful production wrap party for Setting the Bar at Raaka Chocolate Factory in Redhook, New York on October 27, 2016. We had an exciting night that included the trailer screening, Q&A, Peruvian food, wine and mezcal. 



We had the premiere of the Setting the Bar trailer at the Downtown Redlands Art Walk on October 23, 2016. We were proud to be a part the Fair Chocolate & Coffee Fair hosted by Ryan and Cassi Berk from Parliament Chocolate.
